Let's discard this is caused by a corrupted file, ok? Please, repair your game through Origin - right click on it and select 'Repair'.
When the process ends, could you try to take your sims to the library again?

I repair my game and also delete the cache files on a regular basis, but, unfortunately, the issue still exists.
After your comment I've been wondering, what are the signs of corrupted (save?) files? My game works juts fine otherwise, but now I'm a little bit worried, haha.

Sorry for the delay. There's an easy way of knowing if an issue is due to the save or other reasons. Please, create a new save game from the main menu and send your sims to the library. Are you still experiencing this issue in that new save game?
