Reusing A Product Code On The SAME Account

When I redeemed codes to get some expansion packs that were on my CD, it said "Unknown error occurred" or something. I followed some steps on youtube because many of the comments said that it worked but the one on youtube was different.

I tried uninstalling my sims 3 game and it's expansion packs and then reinstalled the game, then reinstalling the expansion packs one by one to see which one was the issue. I successfully installed the sim 3 but when I was redeeming the product code for the sims 3 generations, it said "This product code has already been used".

Yes, I was on the same account, and on the forums, it said that 3 accounts could be registered to one same game and my account was the only account it was registered to. I don't know if the 3 registered account counts the ones that I play using the CD, I think many people have encountered this issue so I'm hoping someone could help me. (By the way, I am on a macbook.)

Oh, I see, @NGUYENTTUAN, thanks for clarifying that.

In this case, I think the best approach would be asking one of our advisers for help, as they are the best option for code issues. Please, contact one of our advisers through EA Help, they will be happy to help.

You will find a detailed explanation on how to contact them if you need it here.

If you have any question, don't hesitate to ask 🙂

    Happy generations!

  • Hi @NGUYENTTUAN,

Each game code can only be redeemed in one account, but you can install it as many times as you need in your computer.

Can you see your The Sims 3 game in your Origin Game Library? If so, click on it and information will show in the right side of the Origin client. Go to Extras tab and scroll down until you find the pack you are trying to install (The Sims 3 generations). Click on it to start the download and installation of the pack, you shouldn't be asked for your game code again.

Let us know if that helps, or if you have any questions.

    Welcome to Answers HQ!

  • Thanks for the help Mai, But when I was opening my game with only the sims 3 generations installed, it asked me to confirm my game code since it was apparently invalid. I tried several times.

I even done it with and without the dashes, but it  still didn't work.
