Thanks. The base game and Sims 4 packs folder need to be in your Applications folder as that is where Origin installs games to. Every time you open Origin it will be looking in your User Applications folder for the game and if isn't there, it will prompt you to download it.
- Move the Sims 4 Packs folder to your User Applications folder, NOT the Applications folder in Macintosh HD
- Open Origin and download the game again. You should only need to download base game, it shouldn't re-download your packs as they are in the Sims 4 Packs folder you just moved
- Leave the game and Packs folder in the Applications folder, do not move it anywhere else
- Once successfully downloaded you can remove it from your Documents folder by right clicking on it and selecting Move To Bin
The Electronic Arts folder in your Documents folder contains the Sims 4 folder which contains all your saves, mods, settings etc. Leave this in the Documents folder. If you move it the game will not load your saves and other user data. This is how the Applications and Documents folders should look:

This is a great suggestion! It seems my disc is too full, the sims game itself takes up basically the entire disc not counting the packs ☹️ I'm kind of stuck now
