scratch folder doesn't delete itself

so the scratch folder is supposed to delete itself after loading up the game right? well i'm always deleting it myself after i'm done playing. i think it might have to do with the fact that any time i try to quit the sims 4, the app stops responding and i have to force quit it manually myself. i can save my game and play totally fine so i'm not sure where this issue came from?

i play on a macbook and with some mods if that helps
