Product: The Sims 4
Platform:Mac
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.61.15.1220
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Laundry Day Stuff, Vampires, Cats & Dogs, Get to Work, My First Pet Stuff, Parenthood
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Have a sim walk or stand on any flat surface or flooring
What happens when the bug occurs? When sims walk on a flat surface, a translucent or black square appears on the floor around the character, and follows the sim as they walk around the world. This happens indoors and outdoors, but does not appear when a sim walks up the stairs. It also happens sometimes when the sims sit on couches. Sims outside of the household have the same issue. When two sims cross paths, the squares overlap, and the overlap area is darker than the rest of the square. I attempted to fix it by double checking that I did indeed have the lates update, as well as attempting to repair the game files (I purchased the game through Origin, and there was a "repair game files" option in the menu where I gan view what games I have). The issue had not gone away upon repairing the files and booting up the game afterwards.
What do you expect to see? I expect to see no translucent or black square underneath my sims as they walk through the world
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. I downloaded the latest update to the game at the beginning of the week, and the bug started upon creating a new save and placing the family on to a lot.
I loaded up saves that were made before the update, just in case this one file was corrupted, but they also have the same bug. Occasionally when I pass my mouse over the squares, my screen has a weird flash of colorful static, like a fuzzy signal on a television set.
