Let's try from scratch again. Please can you do the following, in this order:
- Completely uninstall the game. Instructions on doing this properly and getting rid of all files here.
- Install just the base game.
- Download and apply the correct 1.67 manual patch for your disc region.
- Install Late Night.
- Open the Launcher and apply any patch it prompts for.
- Follow the instructions to get LN installed in the game folder.
- Attempt to launch the game. If it doesn't work then apply the Unknown Error fix.
Let me know how you get on.
Like I said yesterday, I applied the Unknown Error fix and the Unknown Error is still popping up. How do I fix this?

I'm not running any antivirus software, and I only have Late Night EP installed. I don't have any custom content or mods or anything either.
Also, I tried to do a clean uninstall/reinstall of Late Night and then followed the steps you initially gave to fix the problem. It got rid of the Unknown Error (woo!), but I'm back to square one where I'm stuck on that blue and green Sims 3 logo screen before the game loads.
Ok. One last thing to try... Can you create a new user account on your Mac and attempt to load the screen in that account?
Great! Most probably a memory issue then. The Launcher uses nearly 2Gb RAM which is the maximum the game can utilise. Read this article on purging RAM before and during gameplay 🙂
