sims 4 corrupted files on Mac

I recently moved my sims 4 game from one external drive to another. When I first transferred the files the game worked, however after the game updated I was unable to play sims 4 due to corrupted files. I have tried everything, I have repaired multiple times, uninstalled and reinstalled the game, deleted origin and downloaded the origin trouble shooter. I first started trying to delete the files it said was corrupted, but it was almost all of my mods. I even went and updated every mod that is in my mods folder. I am completely lost.

When you say corrupted files, could you be more specific? Do you have visual corruption or are you getting error messages?

Is it just your game installation on the external or have you also created the symlink to store your TS4 folder on the external too?

I get a message that says sims can't run because of a corrupted file. I run my sims game from an external drive using a symlink.

So you have the game installed on the external drive AND you have your Sims 4 folder stored on the external drive? They are two separate things and the game being installed on the external drive does not require a symlink, it is changed in Origin settings.

Did you make sure the external drive was correctly formatted before creating the symlink? The corrupted CC file error message is typical of an incorrectly formatted drive - https://bluebellflora.com/saving-your-sims-4-folder-to-an-external-drive/
