I tried that and it still happens :/

Ok. Does it also happen when you move the entire Sims 4 folder to the desktop so the game recreates a new one? You will have to create a new save and play for a little while to properly test.- 5 years ago
I played for 30ish minutes after moving my Sims 4 folder to my desktop and everything ran smoothly. I tested opening the Gallery and that worked fine as well.

That's great! Now you can test your saves to see if there is an issue with one of them. Move them back one at a time into the newly created Sims 4 > Saves folder and then load the game to see if the issue happens again.
