sims 4 gaming

Hello. Recently, I bought the Sims 4 and it was working fine. I was unamused so I decided to download CC stuff from various places, like I did with my Sims 3. Since then, the game has completely stopped working, would not start at all. I went looking for answers as to what to do without having to go through my CC, because I downloaded way too much for me to go through one by one, I also didn't know if that was the root so I didn't want to waste my time if it wasn't. I found an answer saying that I should move my Sims 4 folder to my desktop to see if the game runs after. It did, however, ALL MY CC WAS GONE. Freaking out, I quickly moved the original folder from my desktop back to the Electronic Arts folder to try and get my CC back. That one little decision made my situation 10x worse. Now, reading back on the forum, I realized that I probably should've transferred the mods by themselves without the folder to the new folder the computer generated for me. Since I didn't do this, both folders are empty and I am officially losing my mind. I've tried checking my downloads folder but for whatever reason all the CC I downloaded isn't all there. I don't know what to do. I spent hours last night downloading all of this just to have it all gone and I know it's overdramatic but I'm really upset about it lol. If anyone has a solution, I would literally die for you. Please please please let me know. I am on a mac.

Installing any 3rd party CC into your game is done at your own risk. CC, especially Mods, quite often break and need updating after a game patch. The only way to work out which CC is incompatible is to move it all out then move it back into your Mods folder in small batches, testing after installing each batch to see if your game will work.

You should also make sure that you have iCloud Drive disabled for storing your Documents folder in the cloud otherwise the game will create a brand new Sims 4 folder each time you load it.

Yeah, I used to test my mods that way with the Sims 3 but I was hoping there would be a simpler solution this time around, like the Mod Conflict Detector but that's for PC's only.

So as far as my mods go, is there a way to find them somehow in my Mac computer? I downloaded a lot and I would rather go through them and look for the incompatible ones than start all over looking for the mods I had and re-downloading them, especially because Ad-fly is really annoying and because I would have to go through pages and pages of different mods.

Urgh, I hate adfly. It's such a nuisance.

They should be in the original Sims 4 folder you installed them in, didn't you move it to your desktop? If you have iCloud Drive enabled to store your Documents and Desktop in the cloud then they may be in there.
