sims 4 is stuck on loading screen after moving to external drive on Mac
I tried to move my sims 4 game and my electronic arts folder to an external drive and thought I was successful but now when ever I try to start the game it gets stuck on the Sims 4 screen and wont finish loading and eventually it will say the app isn't responding. I tried to redo the transfer a few times and am pretty positive I followed the steps on the Bluebellflora completely and the symlink looks right and I am not getting and errors, its just not loading. I tried starting the game with the electronic arts folder in my documents and the game downloaded on the external drive and it worked fine, but was just really slow. I also tried with both the game and the folder on the external drive and moved out all of my mods in case it was them but it still would not load. The drive is formatted in APFS and both the origin and sims have full access which seems to be the main problems other people are having but it did not change anything and I am pretty horrible with technology so I'm not sure where to go from there.

The game installation on an external drive does not require a symlink and is completely separate from running the Sims 4 folder from an external which does require the symlink.
As posted in numerous threads on this issue, the external drive must be fast and with a Thunderbolt/USB-C direct connection with no adapter. Perhaps the connection simply isn't fast enough?
