How much storage space is available on your Mac?
Where is your Sims 4 game installed?
Where is your Sims 4 folder located that contains your saves etc?
What is the size of your saves folder?
What is the size of your Mods folder?
When you try a completely Mod free game does it still happen?
If you try a completely new clean game, as described here, is it still laggy?
Hey, I'm so sorry for not responding sooner, had to deal with some personal business. I found out that laptop mode reduces the lag, but in return messes up all of my CC makeup. I run Sims 4 through EA using Rosetta (hoped it would improve performance so that I could turn off laptop mode, but no luck). My saves are stored in Documents - Electronic Arts - The Sims 4. My saves folder is 1,05 GB on disk. The size of my mods folder is 1,08 GB. I have tried a mod free game and the lag still occurs. I have also tried a completely new game but there's still lag. I have around 92,2 GB of available storage, but the number fluctuates.

Laptop mode reduces the resources needed for the game to function, sacrificing certain graphics options in the process. If you use CC that requires a lots of detail to look semi-decent then yes, laptop mode will affect this.

How? EA App will automatically download and install the native version of the game for the ARM chip in your Mac.

A saves folder this full of bloated saves is unquestionably going to cause in-game performance issues. Saves should be a few MBs each, maybe up to around 30MB at the very most.

This is big. Your game is having to load and run an additional 1GB data on top of your bloated saves.

Don't try just a mod free or new game, try a completely new, clean Sims 4 folder as described in the link I provided.

Yes, depending on your other data needs and how much virtual memory the OS is using at any given time.
