sims 4 not opening after getting high school years

my sims 4 games won't open after getting high school years. I have taken out all of my modes and the local thumb cache package just like everyone had said to do but it still won't open even without the modes and when it does open it freezes shortly after and I have to force quit my game. Does anyone have any tips on how to fix this or do I have to wait for another patch? ☹️

hey so i just tried to uninstall my game and then repair it once installed again and its working i have been playing in live mode for about 20 minutes with no problems thank you for trying to help me its very much appreciated thank you so much have a nice day/night 🙂

@lonleypuddle Please move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop. When you launch the game, if it launches, a clean folder will spawn with no content. Don't add anything to it yet; just see whether you can get far enough to start a new save and play in live mode for a bit.

If the game still won't open, let me know whether your computer runs Windows or macOS. If Windows, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

hi so i did what you said in your reply but when I ran the game three out of four times it would load up but then show up as not responding. the one time it did work and fully load I was not able to make a new game as the text from before showed up again and I have to force quit the game once more. also i own a mac if that helps in any way

@lonleypuddle I've moved your thread to the Mac tech section. Please post the full specs of your Mac: everything under About This Mac including the operating system and except for the serial number.

In addition to please providing the full details about your Mac that puzzlezaddict has asked for, can you also copy and past the contents of any lastCrash file in the Sims 4 folder.

What "text from before" are you referring to? If it is an error message can you please post a screenshot.
