sims 4 update wont let me launch

hiya,

so I've spent the past hour or so figuring out why I couldn't update the sims 4 on my mac because of some error message. Turns out having more than one user on your computer can mess that up if origin was downloaded on a different user. So i uninstalled and re-installed. Update finally went through. But now, the update button won't go away. Every time I push it, it says sims 4 is ready to play. But the update button is still there, and if I try to manually launch it from my desktop, it'll pull up origin and say there's an update I need. I've tried using the origin resetter application and manually clearing the cache. Any help is greatly appreciated.
