sims 4 updates will not download

i updated my game on july 23rd with the latest patch. had major issues with that but this is one what this post is about. after a full day of fixing my game and finally getting it to work again, i see as i open the ea all today (july 25th) it says i need to update again. okay cool no problem, go to download it and it starts as normal. then as it is almost finished with the applying update process, i get an error pop up that says im running low on storage. i go check and i have 15gb available. surely this update isn’t 15+gb. i tried restarting the app, my whole computer, clearing extra storage, nothing is working. never had issues like this with origin, only began having issues when i was forced to switch to the ea app. please fix your platform before forcing people to use it.
