Thanks. What kind of Mac do you have - MacBook Air? MacBook Pro? iMac? All these models have shipped with the M1 chip at some point. They have also never come with a 500Gb hard drive, the closest being 512Gb. Are you referring to an external drive?
Deleting the Origin app and Sims 4 app in the Applications folder is not successfully uninstalling them. To uninstall the game you must right click on the game in your Origin games library and select Uninstall. To properly uninstall Origin you must manually reset it as well as trashing the app - https://bluebellflora.com/how-to-uninstall-origin-on-a-mac/
Please follow those instructions above to properly uninstall Origin and the game, empty the trash, restart your Mac, make sure there is no "The Sims 4 folder" in the Documents > Electronic Arts folder then launch the game. You should be prompted to allow Origin and the game access to various locations on your Mac, make sure you allow them all.

I just finisbed a factory restore to my Macbook, after which I downloaded Origin, and Sims 4. The game will not load go the main menu. Just continues playing music and plumbob spinning
