Don't worry, the questions are related to troubleshooting 🙂
You should be able to play the base game ok and add in a few packs although your in-game graphics settings might need to be on the medium to low side to minimise lag. MacBook Airs are great computers but don't have optimal graphics or very powerful processors as they are not designed for gaming.
If you buy Sims 4 and it's not how you expected you can apply for a refund under the Origin games guarantee - https://www.origin.com/gbr/en-us/store/great-game-guarantee this doesn't apply to add on packs though.
