The Sims 4 Crash When Travel

My game has lots of issues with crashing, either when saving or trying to travel. I have a Mac which Sims doesn't seem to like. The most recent patch though has made it really bad. I go to launch game, it loads up (which takes about 20 minutes), then I start playing my family. Everything is running smoothly and fine, but when I try to have my sims go on a date it will load up the new lot then immediately crash to my desktop. I was able to travel before the recent patch - game still crashed but not every time. I have reloaded and attempted travel 3 times now and it crashes each time before I can do anything.

I have 8 GB of ram, which you think would be enough but maybe not. I do have CC which I tried removing before and it did not fix crash issue. I do not have laptop mode on, as it created other graphics/lag issues for some reason. I have a mixture of high and low graphics settings.

I don't want to start a new family - I'm very attached to this one, but it's frustrating to not be able to leave the house. Even more frustrating than it's been to just have my game crash a lot.

Is anyone else experiencing a resurgence of this with the may patch or have any fixes?

    Does that help?

Can you please trash the Options.ini file in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 then try your game again. This will reset all your in-game graphics options to default. How does it now play?

Sorry, I missed this reply earlier.

I did delete that & the game runs a lot smoother. There's still a bit of lag when I queue them up actions or switch between active sims but it's far more playable. But the downside is now on these settings the windows are gray/opaque and you can't see through them, you can't see pool water, there's no view of the city everything out of the apartment is just blue, and the items are all pixelated and terrible looking. It defaults to laptop mode + low everything. I know it might be the price of playing the game but isn't there any way to improve how it works? I thought the ram would help but I guess it's a graphic card issue.

Loading still takes me anywhere from 25 minutes to an hour though, even with the graphic adjustments. I'm guessing it's due to having CC but even when I took it out it still took what seemed really long compared to other people, which from reading I think it might be save related since I've been playing the same family for several months. Is that graphics related or something else?
