Today's patch won't download past 50%

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:Mac
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? The one before today's patch
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All except MFP and Toddler Stuff
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Today's patch has only downloaded 50 per cent and stopped. I have paused and resumed but it says 0 0 0 remaining at the bottom and won't download further. I have closed and reopened Origin and restarted my Mac and it's still stuck at 50 per cent and 0 remaining. My broadband is working ok.
What happens when the bug occurs? Today's patch won't download past 50 per cent
What do you expect to see? Patch to download
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. I tried to download today's patch

I have a Macbook Pro, Catalina 10.15.4.

2.9 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7

Radeon Pro 560 4 GB

    First thing I did when I got up this morning was try again, just to patch, not to repair or reset Origin again, and it installed in seconds.

    The only thing that isn’t working now is that I can only start the game through Origin, not directly, which is new for me, but at least I can play.

    I hope everyone else gets fixed.

    Origin does seem insanely buggy at the moment. I just uninstalled a pack to test something and it didn't register in Origin until I ran the reset tool. Urgh.

    Will, do, and will also see if I can repair the game now. It has been an intermittent problem for me since Eco Lifestyle, though, along with Origin crashing when I quit the game if I've managed to open it with the app.

    Must do a bit of work first, though, to pay for the next pack ... 😂

    OK. I reset Origin again, cleared the game caches and repaired. It opened from the app. Still closes/crashes Origin when I exit the game completely, though – I don't know whether that's a bug or a feature, Origin always used to stay open when I exited the game. Compared to not being able to do anything, I'll take that!
