Good afternoon!I was really enjoying the Sims 4 for the first time in awhile with the new update and Expansion pack. I go to load in the family I was playing as yesterday but it only offered a new game. I looked up different solutions regarding Mac iOS and had turned off the iCloud Desktop & Documents along with the Optimization. I can now start new games and keep the progress from a quick test I ran, but still won't show the family I was playing yesterday. I can see my saves in the save folder. I tried renaming them and I even backed them up, deleted the folder and put them back in there, but nothing has worked. I have attached a screenshot of what the folder looks like with the game running to demonstrate they are still in there. Is there a way to fix this? I'd be quite bummed to lose all my progress (and my motivation to keep playing for awhile at this point 😞 )Anything that could help is greatly appreciated! Thank you so much!Edit: I also repaired the game, uninstalled and reinstalled. I don't have a Load Save option since this is the only save I have in my folder.

@catiecat1010 The extra numbers are where the OS has found files with the same name so instead of replacing them it has numbered them.

Turned off iCloud and Restored Save, but still Won't Load

Saves shouldn't be in the Scratch folder, they should be directly in the saves folder, like this:

The Scratch folder is created when you launch the game and disappears when you quit it. When the game crashes or freezes it can cause the Scratch folder to be left behind so it should be trashed. NEVER rename saves, they won't load.

@Bluebellflora They don't exist in the scratch folder, but I did notice that pops up when I run the game.
I have attached what it looks like normally when the game is not running:
and then what exists in the scratch folder (as you can see, there is nothing in there)
I only renamed one. Is there still a way I can get the others to load?

The screenshot in your previous post shows the saves being in a scratch folder within the saves folder:

Those saves won't load because a) they are not directly within the saves folder and b) they have a space and additional numbers after the file name and before the .save extension. Look at my screenshot as an example.

You should have ONE Sims 4 folder in the Documents > Electronic Arts folder.

In that Sims 4 folder there should be ONE saves folder.

In that saves folder there should be nothing but save files. Save files start with Slot_ then have eight random numbers, sometimes letters, and always end in .save. The ones that end in .ver0, .ver1 etc. are backups.

I was simply showing what the folder looked like while the game was running. If they were truly in the scratch folder, they would be indented more since this is how Mac files when in third folder format. Sorry if this caused confusion for you. I can update my post to just show what it looks like when the game is not running.
I only have one folder so I really don't know what's causing it. I even went to finder to find more saves folders, but it only pulled up this and then for other games I have. I'm not sure what caused the space in the numbers because I did not give it to them. Would this may have been because of iCloud?

Ah yeah you're right sorry (it's been a long day!).

Can you please quit the game and then post a screenshot of the saves folder. It can be very confusing as a scratch folder can cause issues if left in the saves folder so the presumption is that it may be one of the issues.

Your save file names are incorrect as per my previous post.

I believe this is what had caused it. Honestly, very sad ☹️
I tried to see if I could find the original save, but I had to empty out my trash since the copies of the Sims 4 folder were still existing in iCloud, so I guess it is lost.

Well, that looks like one save. You just need to remove the extra characters and it will load. It should be Slot_0x00000002.save.

I would empty the contents of the saves folder into another folder somewhere and then put one of those saves back into the saves folder and remove the extra characters. None of those saves will have loaded.
