unable to start my sims 4 game

everytime i try to start up my sims 4 game it has my cursor as a loading icon then when i hover over my sims 4 game in my dock it says "application not responding" i don't know if it's something inside my mods folder but when i split my entire mods folder into two batches and checked each by trying to start my game, my game still won't start up.

I did what you said by taking out my sims 4 folder and loading up the game and it did load up. I put my saves folder into the new sims 4 folder to see if it was my saves and loaded up the game and the game still loaded up but then when I put my all my mods into the new mods folder it wouldn't load up. I was still quite confused because as I stated in my last post I split up my entire mods folder into two batches and testing each by trying to run the game and the game still wouldn’t load. I tried repairing it though the game still didn't open. I couldn't find my sims 4 game on my application folder but I did try opening it from my dock but the game still says “application not responding.” So when I did log out my origin and quit it and restarted my MacBook I started my sims 4 it worked!!! Thank you all for the support and help.

i have the same issue and tried this, but it still doesn’t work. for me, it all of a sudden started when i purchased some additional content from the ongoing sale even though my system meets the recommended requirements for mac. i also tried repairing the game, but neither has worked

  • I've been having the same problem the last two days.

In my last moment of desperation, after reinstalling the game from EA app, repairing and restarting multiple times during two days, and accomplishing nothing, I tried to launch the game without any of the apps installed - Origin and EA app - (just because of reasons) and the game tried to open Origin, not EA app, as I expected.

So I reinstalled Origin and left it alone.

Oppend EA app, repaired de the game and re-launched from the EA app and the game works fine.

Origin just need to be in the background because, for some reason, the game is looking for it to launch...

    EA at it's best...
