Cursor jumping to corners of screen

I just got a new PC yesterday (it's the same PC and software as my previous one just a new version). I downloaded the AE app and reinstalled the game with all the add-ons and had no issues while playing until now.

Everything on my PC works as should with no issues except when I boot up the game. My cursor is constantly jumping to a random corner of the screen and I can't control it, whether I'm on the main menu, in settings, or in game/build mode. 

I've already tried restarting my computer, repairing the game, and restoring the default settings. Does anyone know why this might be happening? And what can I do to fix this?

    Thank you so much for this tip. I recently had to purchase a new lenovo with win 11 and had the same problem with Sims 4. Turning off the pen - I do not have one - seems to have done the trick.

    I’m currently updating sims and followed your instructions and am SO looking forward to hopefully playing again. I thought it was over between me and sims 4 💛 thank you for the advice
