EA won't/can't launch

I have restarted my computer, restarted the EA app, & I keep getting a pop-up that says "Background Services Crashed". It says to click yes to start a manual update. I did that twice & nothing pops up. I just keep getting the same message. 

I was playing The Sims 4 fine yesterday with no issues even with the base game update. 

I log on after seeing Deadpool this evening (wonderful movie - super funny), so I can download the new Lovestruck pack since I pre-ordered it, & it won't let me download. I have the space & everything.... 

I went to click download & it just does nothing. That's when I started restarting the app under "help" in EA. But the app or game won't launch at all right now.

I've never had this issue before, so I am upset I can't start the new game. 

(YES I already uninstalled mods / cc & that did not do ANYTHING but make me more upset that I wasted time moving them)

Anyone else having the same issue & know how to fix it?

EDIT: There was a forum on how to change my computer settings that fixed the issue! The game is running fine now.
