Expansion pack disk

I have a discover university expansion pack disk that I am trying to download. I have an Omen that has no place for a disk so I had ordered one. I put the disk in and when the instructions for download pop up, I hit continue and a thing pops up saying that I must have the sims 4 downloaded on this computer in order to download the expansion pack. I have the sims 4 downloaded and I play it like everyday with other expansions and this is my first disk. Does anybody know how I can fix this?

    HailoJade  Forget using the disc.  Just take the code that came with it and register it in the EA App.  (There's a button to redeem a code in the upper-right corner of the game library.)  This way, you can simply download the pack without needing to use the disc, which is problematic anyway.  And even if you got this process to work, you'd still need to register the code before the App would allow you to use the pack.
