Game Crashing a few minutes after loading a save.

platform: pc (base game and most packs on steam, a few packs from ea app, and the one bundle from epic games) mods: yes, but the same thing happens when I remove them game version: latest, though the issue has been happening for at least a month-ish now description: this has been happening for a while now. my game runs fine for a good ten minutes after loading a save but then crashes. I've tried turning my graphics as low as possible, starting a new save, moving my sims 4 folder so the game makes a new one. nothing works. is this a my-pc-isn't-good-enough issue, a I-have-too-many-packs issue, or a the-sims-4-is-a-horribly-optimized-game issue?

  • popcarn202  Please provide a dxdiag.  Hit Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

If that doesn't help, please look for new errors in the Reliability Monitor.  Hit Windows key-R and enter "perfmon /rel" without quotes, and you'll see a chart of errors and updates with a column for each day.  Today is on the right.

Look for an error that happened at exactly the time of your most recent Sims 4 crash.  If you find one, double-click it to see more details, then copy that info and paste it into a reply here.  If you don't see a new error, check back in an hour or so—the Reliability Monitor doesn't always update right away.
