Game keeps crashing but won't generate lastcrash.txt

Every time I load up Sims 4, I can play for either 2 minutes or 1 hour before my game freezes and shortly thereafter crashes to desktop. No lastcrash.txt generates, though? This issue has only started in the past week or so... and it's really frustrating as I play Sims almost everyday.

I've done the 'Sims 4_Backup' folder method, repaired the game, updated my drivers, tried to see what in particular makes the crash happen (nothing does, sometimes my Sim will be doing their university homework or playing with their pet, it doesn't seem to matter). I've also gone through other threads and disabled the BIOS Turbo Boost thingy and even Google Background services. So idk, I'm unsure if my save or family is corrupt, as I have gotten the 'household failed to load' issue before, but fixed it by loading a different household and then going back to my main.

I've yet to the 50/50 method or play vanilla, but I just first wanted assistance and what I'm confused the most about is why a lastcrash.txt isn't being generated e.g. is it more a PC issue? I do play other games such as Civ6 or Overwatch or TES with high graphics, etc. and don't crash...

Here are my specs and dxdiag:

Windows 11 Pro
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060
Processor    12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12400F   2.50 GHz
Installed RAM    16.0 GB (15.8 GB usable)

Thank you for any help!!! :)

However, these crashes are more often caused by bad custom content.  So please try playing with your Mods folder removed.  You don't need to save your progress; this is just for testing.

If that doesn't help, test a new save, still with no mods or cc.

You can of course uninstall and reinstall the runtimes first if you prefer.  It's not that difficult or time-consuming.  Open Windows Settings > Apps, scroll down to the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables, and uninstall anything from 2015 or newer.  (Don't touch the older entries, which are standalone versions.)  You can download fresh copies from Microsoft:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-US/cpp/windows/latest-supported-vc-redist?view=msvc-170

You only need the 2022 runtimes, both x86 and x64 but not the ARM version.  Restart your computer after installing these and before trying to play.

As for the BIOS settings, you can go ahead and revert to default.  As far as I've seen, the issue that disabling CPU Turbo Boost fixes has never affected 12th-gen CPUs or any i5 model; only 13th- and 14th-gen i7 and i9 models are affected.

Thank you so much for your advice. I've gone and uninstalled/reinstalled the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable from 2015 and newer and reverted the CPU Turbo Boost settings to default. I'll see if that fixes my game!

However,  last night I played on vanilla and didn't crash - so definitely a mod issue. I started on the 50/50 method and removed CC (such as cas or build mode items) and crashed today, but this time a lastcrash.txt did generate.

I'll continue doing the 50/50 method and hopefully find the stubborn mod lol

Okay so I did what puzzleaddict suggested and then I ended up doing the 50/50 method. Strangely enough, a default replacement skin was causing my game to CTD. It was the feather skinblend default replacement by loveryss

Now that it's removed, I can play the game with no hiccups again :)
