Game keeps crashing

Every time I have played The Sims 4 in the last couple of weeks, I randomly get hit with the white screen meaning I can't do anything. The only thing I can do is bring up Task Manager to end the game as I can't close it normally or save and exit the game. 

This has caused me to lose game progress on a couple of occasions no matter how much I try to keep saving the game whilst playing. I haven't noticed anything in particular that triggers the game to crash and become unplayable. It's happened when only in build mode for a couple of hours, when changing between worlds, trying to search on the gallery. I can't suggest anything that it might be due to it being completely random. 

It can happen a couple of times in the space of 10 minutes when I keep trying to load the game back up, or it could be hours into working in build mode that it could crash. Either way I can't do anything on the game as it just makes it impossible to do anything worthwhile. 

I don't play with mods and have checked what little CC I have within the game is the correct versions. Its mainly CAS items I used but this was an issue before I downloaded the items.
