Game not loading I've tried everything!

Yesterday, I had my game open, playing just fine when it crashed- pretty usual, so I went to open the game again and got the "Failure to load, issue on our end please try again later". I figured it was my mods, so removed all my mods, then disabled One Drive, and some other stuff that was recommended to do on this forum/reddit. Then copied my file to my desktop to start a new save. Finally got the game to open where it says "Start New Game". Then I couldn't get my saved fils to open back up when I moved them back over. So I moved them back to the desktop to start a new save file and then was going to move them one by one, however, I'd go to click on new game, went to CAS, then when I click the check mark/next, the game crashes and the same message appears even though I have my entire old file moved to desktop, so it should just be a fully new game, as if it were brand new. I can't figure out what more to do since it seems like my Mods AND saves/tray files aren't the issue.

TLDR; Game crashing still even after troubleshooting for hours and removing mods/full save file. Loads into main menu, CAS but then crashes after I actually go to start a new save.

Thank you so much! This computer I have now used to be a family computer so there's a lot of random stuff on it, plus a lot of my brother's old games that he now plays on his gaming computer. I typically use my macbook for most things, so I literally only use the computer to play the sims, since the other games I play are on console. I am wanting to have like the cheapest computer I can get to play just this game on it while having enough storage to run it with good graphics and hold some mods. Ideally, I would not want to spend more than maybe $200 on something, since I already have a monitor. If there isn't really anything that cheap, then I'll prob just save up for something, but I'd love your suggestions.

If it helps- On my game I have like two actual save files, and I mostly only have CC mods for builds/CAS and not any script mods, though I want to download some. This computer has run too slow with them in the past so I just deleted them.

Once again thank you so much!!!!

  • ellassmith22  There isn't anything good that cheap, that is unless you're buying a used system that's several years old directly from its original owner (as on Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace).  I could look there for you, but it's sometimes difficult to know whether you're being scammed, especially in the U.S. with no buyer protections.

If you're thinking about a new computer though, you might as well see whether wiping this one, as in, reinstalling Windows, would help.  You'd be starting over just like with a new system, except it's the same system and you haven't spent any money yet.  Back up your saves and Tray files, or the entire Sims 4 folder they're in (and zip the folder first), then reinstall the OS and see what happens.

I realize this is a burden, and I would still be happy to troubleshoot with you using intermediate steps.  My point here is that if you're not ready to spend the kind of money that would get you a good new computer—and you'd be looking at more like $500, or more for a proper gaming system—this is something you can do now to try to fix the issue.

You can also play on your Mac if you want and if it's from 2012 or newer.  How well Sims 4 would run depends on the specs of the computer, which you can find under About This Mac.  Saves and other user files transfer between Windows and macOS just fine.

puzzlezaddict At the moment, I am not in the place for for a whole new system, thought its something I'd like to do in the future. For now, I'll just look at wiping this one and updating it. I'll prob look at getting a new set up soon, though sometime in summer, since there are some games I've been wanting to play!
