Game won't load

Helloo, since yesterday I've been having a problem with my Sims 4. The game itself starts normally but as soon as I try to open a household I'm immediately thrown back to the world overview. Without mods, the game runs smoothly but with mods, this error occurs every time.

Ive already tried a few things: completely removing the mods folder, starting a new game, renewing the resource file and updating large mods such as MC Command Centre. Nevertheless, the problem persists.

Since I don't want to play Sims without mods, I hope someone can help me quickly or has some tips on what the problem might be.

Thanks in advance!

  • The new base game update broke a lot of mods, mainly script ones. When you are starting a new game, are you starting it with mods loaded, or starting a new game with nothing on it?

For me, I had to uninstall the EA App and Sims, re-install it, repair the game, start a new game with NO MODS, then do the 50/50 method on all my mods (about 500+) to figure out which one's were broken by the new update. Sims After Dark on discord is also a big help for this. Unfortunately for script mods and regular mods that are broken you'll just have to wait until the creator posts an updated version to use it again.

I first had EA repair the game and then completely restarted it, so it was brand new without my files. That worked without any problems. Then I added my save files without mods and that also opened and played normally.

When I put my entire mods folder back in at once it didn't work anymore. Now I've only added part of the folder and left out a mod that I thought might cause problems. (It was a mod for high school) and without this mod my game loads again!

The mod was High School More Students by Aramiteus. I also think that mods that interfere with gameplay are more likely to cause the game not to start properly. I don't actually have that many of them. mainly just this one, MCC Command and Basemental Drugs. I removed those two but left MCC Command in. That got the game running again.

The rest of my mods are more for clothing or building mode and they don't cause me any problems.
