HELP -Before I chuck the pc through the window!

I've had a right problem today. Started with not being able to cook only one meal in new households. So I tried to repair, then repair EA download, said file missing and restart to continue install, no go. Ended up doing a system restore on pc. Great, sorted! Downloaded Sims4 again, great! Then got the video card pop up. I'm now sweating! So, another pop up came on, do this and it will download it and fix it - great! Just lost over 3000 hours playtime, now it's saying start a new game!!!!!!!

  • Shermansnan  The system restore may have wiped your saves and other user data.  Hopefully it simply moved or renamed the data though.  Here's how you can search for it:

⚙️[PC] Sims 4 Missing User Content (saves, mods, etc.) | EA Forums - 12636780

The pop-up about an unrecognized video card is also due to your user data disappearing.  You're only supposed to see the message once, but the file that holds the flag that you've already seen it is Options.ini, and that is stored in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 along with the rest of your user files.
