I went to play Sims 4 yesterday, the game had to update, I updated it and when I went to play, my entire progress was lost. It was as if I'd never played before, despite having played for close to four years. All the sims and houses I'd ever made were missing, not only from the game but from my library and the gallery as well, and all of the mods added were missing as well. I asked some questions on Origin and was told it was probably because of my mods. I'm not sure if this is why because I've updated Sims 4 plenty of times with mods before but either way this doesn't help me get my FOUR YEARS of progress back. Does anyone know how I can recover my content? Or even some of it?

So the saves folder is empty? Please check recycle bin to see if something is there.Also do a search for the Sims 4 to see if there is such a folder elsewhere on your drive.

I am also having this issue. I searched my entire drive and external drive to find my files. I have a saved file, but it just aks like the game is brand new and wants me to chose a season. I tried everything yesterday. At one point thre map was showing all of these llamas in each town, and several of my lots were blank.After moving files and tring everything yesterday, now everything is just GONE. Sims, lots, everything.

Your game probably decided to use another location for its user files likely on Onedrive. Please confirm that you have a The Sims 4 folder on Onedrive in documents\Electronics Arts as well as in the local Documents folder.

There is nothing of the sort in OneDrive but there is an Electronic Arts; Sims 4 folder in documents

The file is in Documents;Electronic Arts;Sims 4 but none of my content is there

Yes the saves folder is empty and I've searched and there is no sims 4 folder elsewhere. Also nothing in the recycle bin

very frustrating as Have been working on these houses all year. The most recent one took me a month ☹️

In that case I can't help any more. It is impossible to say what might have happened as we have ruled out known causes. Unless you have a backup elsewhere you will need to start over.
