My CAS and build buy aren't working. When I'm creating a new sim the hair and all clothiing/accessory options are incomplete and not all slots are filled. In build buy mode, I am unable to buy anything. I click on the items I want to buy but I'm not able to place them down, and I can build a wall but I can't select anything else.

The missing items in CAS is caused by an outdated "More Columns in CAS" mod.
The inability to click and drop items from build/buy mode is caused by an outdated "Better Build/Buy" or "Expanded Catalog" mod.
New versions have been released. Please update them. when i go into build mode i cant actually place anything down. please help. picture attached
@itzjustlyn Try removing the Better Build/Buy and TOOL mods, if you have them, and delete localthumbcache.package as well.
Hi,
When I go into Build Mode and select on any item I want to buy in the catalogue, such as furniture, it does not do anything. Normally, it should be grabbing the item and allowing me to place the item somewhere in the household, however, no item appears when I click onto the item picture in Build Mode.
I tested other functions of Build Mode, such as building a wall, and that is fine but when trying to buy items for the household, it does not do anything.
Also on the bottom left of the screen, usually it shows the money amount. However, the money amount does not show when in Build Mode and only shows when I come out of Build Mode.
I have updated all of my mods, so I am not sure what the issue could be? I also have updated my Sims 4 and it is the latest patch.
(I do not have TwistedMexi's Better BuildBuy Mod)
I have attached a video to show the bugs:

Hi, @Aidenguy00 Most likely, a mod is broken, that interferes with the UI, many mods have updated, so it's still a matter of culling or a 50/50 to find the culprit mod.
Spoiler- Apart from culling your folders one by one, or the 50/50 method, to narrow down the broken cc or mod, that is all you can do, (restarting and checking your game each time) you'll simply need to find the broken mod/cc it and remove it
- Mods & cc are well known to cause various in-game issues please check for updates to them / where you found them; do this also > after any sims update or adding a game pack,
- Simsonic Weebly Mod Tracker has a list for people who use mods/cc; and updates on which ones are broken or now updated
- Also the EA Forums do a regular post for broken mods / cc, & maintained by LuthienRising.
- I also use Sims 4 Studio for batch fixes, as it solves a lot of problems in bulk (but not all.) It's also available for Mac. And is updated frequently, with pack relevant bug fixes.
After every patch or game update, this is a necessary process, to add your mods back to your game, folder by folder and starting it each time to test to see if it's ok to play. (nb: you should keep them separated for ease of checking, btw)
Also, if you are new to using cc/mods please check my post here on maintaining your game. as there are many tips, including the 50/50 method and tools to help you fix your game and how to find the broken mod.
Let us know how you go 👍
I have no connection to EA, am an Avid Mods/CC user, but don't make them:

hi I deleted localthumbcache.package and it keeps showing up and I don't have better build/buy
@josiesimmerrr The localthumbcache file will regenerate whenever you launch the game. The point of deleting it is to spawn a fresh copy.
Have you also removed the entire Mods folder? Please try it if you haven't.
