I couldn't lunch the game sims4

It’s been a while since I played Sims 4, but when I tried to play on Friday, it wouldn’t start. I got an error saying, “Unable to start: the game has run out of memory,” even though I have two drives—one with 55GB and the other with 124GB of space. I’m using an MSI gaming laptop and have played the game for 114 hours. I’ve deleted and reinstalled the game twice, repaired it five times, removed the mod folder to my desktop, and even removed Sims 4 from the Electronic Arts folder. I also tried disconnecting from the internet, but nothing seems to work. Can you help?

  • memory is NOT hard disk space. you might be running out of ram. if you are in windows 11 you need at least 8 gbs of RAM to run the game. more is better.

remember from those 8 gbs of ram about half is used by windows so you actually have 4 gbs for the game. that is what the game needs just to boot a 30x40 lot. i would sugget getting 16 or better 32 gbs of ram if you can. i do own a MSI gaming laptop and did the same as well. whent from 16 to 32 gbs.

  • PLUTOLOUA  Please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

Please also let me know whether it helps to restart your computer immediately before trying to play.

olchaos  32 GB RAM is wildly unnecessary for Sims 4 unless you plan on running multiple demanding apps alongside the game.

puzzlezaddicti never said the game requires 32 gbs. i mentioned i had 16 gbs was running low for me and double it up to 32 gbs. i do play games like forza horizon 5 or horizon forbidden west that uses 10 gbs of ram just to run, plus windows that uses between 2 to 4 gbs on its own. then again that is my setup. my suggestion was DOUBLE your RAM. not "get 32 gbs of ram or sims 4 wont run" but i do appreciate the attention to details and that you mentioned me VS do a generic reply.
