Laptop for sims 4

Hi all I am desperate to get back playing sims and have it purchased in the ea app but sadly no laptop to play on! I’m not too bothered about having loads of mods or expansion packs would probably only have 1 or 2 if I did!

I just wondered if anyone could recommend a laptop for about £250 for sims?
i don’t play any other games and don’t have any other need for a laptop really so can’t spend too much! I’m UK based also!

thanks

The one caveat is that if you want or need more storage, then yes, it would be best to save up, as I'd expect to be able to find an equivalent laptop with a 256 GB drive instead of 128.

On the other hand, depending on how long it would take you to save the extra money, you might prefer to buy now and be able to start playing right away.  It's really your call.

I'm always around, so I'd be able to help you pick something out whenever you came back.  But I can't predict what I'd be able to find for you beyond what I'd said above because the market can change a lot even in a few weeks.

Thanks that’s really helpful, final question do you think worth saving an extra £50 and increasing the budget to £300 or will it not make any difference?

If you want to try Ebay, I can make some suggestions.  But the graphics chip in this laptop is close to the performance of the fastest graphics chips available in the £400-500 range from two to four years ago, which is the class of laptops that I would expect to find in the £250 range now.

So you could in theory get a small performance boost from one of these, but the tradeoff is having an older laptop with no warranty and no store willing to replace it if necessary.  I personally don't think it's worth the risk.  Still, if you feel differently, let me know, and I'll take a look.

Oh amazing thanks for looking! If it helps I don’t mind going second hand? Or do you think that’s the best I’ll do? Thanks so much again!

It doesn't have much storage, but enough for Sims 4, your saves, and a small collection of mods and custom content (maybe 10 GB or so).  It should be able to run the game on medium-high graphics settings, which is better than I thought I'd find when I started this search.  I can keep looking, but I suspect I won't find anything better, and maybe not anything even as good.

If you don't like it for whatever reason, let me know why, and I'll try to find something more suitable.
