My game won't work!

My game won't open at all, I tried repairing, deleting then redownloading sims, and then deleting EA app and redownloading and nothing is working. And yes EVERYTHING is updated to the latest, and also yes I have enough space on my MAC. Please help!

mines too! like i have mods but ik for a fact they arent broken before ive updated them all

  • If you have mods, go to your mods folder and delete your Resource.cfg file. search “resource cfg” online and there should be a sims site that will allow you to download it. put the newly downloaded resource.cfg file into your mods folder and try it now. that’s the only advice i have, i had this problem and that’s what fixed it for me.

For everyone else, if you still can't play, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

Okay I did that and it worked but how do i now get all of my old sims and houses back

  • EHarlow_29  Your saves and saved builds are in the folder you moved, in the saves and Tray subfolders, respectively.  So move those files to the new Sims 4 folder the game created in Documents > Electronic Arts, and the content should load again.

Rattyratrat1111  Try forcing the game to open in DirectX 11 mode.  Open the EA App, select Sims 4 > Manage > View properties, and add -dx11 to the command line box.
