Rjmontez I don't think I need anything else from you right now, but I would be curious as to whether the computer appears to be overheating. Do the fans seem to be running hotter than usual? Does the laptop itself feel especially hot to the touch?
The Task Manager's Performance tab will list the GPU temperatures, although only roughly, so you can check there too. Make sure you have NOT minimized the game, as that will cause your RTX 4060 to downclock and therefore cool off, perhaps rather quickly. Just bring the TM window to the front and take a look. Anything below 80º C is fine.
If you want to take a closer look, download hwinfo (it's free, and the portable version is fine), extract it, launch it, choose "sensors only," and leave it open while you play. You can alt-tab to it to take a look at CPU and GPU temps as well as a giant pile of other readings that you can ignore for now. Excessively high readings will show in red, but I'd want to know if any CPU core gets hotter than the low 90s.
If everything looks fine on that front, this issue might be just a manifestation of how Sims 4 is running these days for some users on higher-end machines. I tend to think that at least some of these complaints are due to user-side issues that are fixable, so I didn't want to brush you off with a gesture in the general direction of game optimization issues, but I do want to acknowledge that this may not be your computer's fault, so to speak. Or the crashing could have been a system issue that you've now addressed, but the bad performance is due to the game itself. It's often difficult to tell, especially when problems overlap.
Having said that, if your internal temps are fine and you want to at least try to fix the performance problems, I had suggestions for another user on a high-end system here:
Camera movements very choppy since BH patch | EA Forums - 12185589
Your computer can in theory handle the higher load without a problem. But if it's already close to overheating, please don't make any of these changes, as they do increase the demands on your GPU, and on your CPU to a lesser extent.
If you get another crash, not just bad performance, I would definitely like to see the Reliability Monitor information. But if the crash is in Innisgreen, that is also probably the fault of the game.
