Saves not Accessible to Play, mods folder or not

Hey there, I've tried reading a bunch of advice on how to fix this, if anyone has the same issue and can point me to the solution.

After the second most recent update, the one where they made the changes to how you can manage which packs you use, none of my saves are showing up in game. They are in the folder and now I have like three back ups of the folder,  but I can't get them to show up in game. I tried repairing the game, nothing. Uninstall and reinstall, nada. I took out the mods folder and repaired it, still none of my games showing up. All it says is to start a scenario (no existing files to be found) or new game. Advice?

  • Biddibon  Sorry for the late reply; I've been away from the forums for a couple days.

Sims 4 won't read this folder by default, as it only looks in Documents > Electronic Arts.  Documents is on C by default, and if E is an external drive, do NOT move the Documents folder there.  Instead, you'd need to create a symbolic link to tell the game where to look:

If you've already done this, double-check that the symlink is still intact, AND that it's in the exact location that the game is reading now.  You can see its location by right-clicking the symlink and selecting Properties > General: it should list its location and the folder it points to.  For the game, here's how to find the full path to the folder it's reading:

Keep in mind this location may have changed due to a Windows update.

  • Biddibon  Please post a screenshot of the folder that contains your saves, the one in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4.  Include the address bar, above the list of files, in the screenshot.
