Sims 4 Will Not Launch

I have been having this issue for over 2 weeks where I'll hit play on the EA app for the Sims 4 and nothing but a blank white screen comes up. My computer's fans start whirring like crazy until I close things out to prevent my computer from overheating. No matter how long I let the game try and load up, 5 minutes to an hour, the white screen doesn't ever give way to the home screen.

I've updated my mods, completely emptied the mods folder, deleted the entire mods folder, etc, so it has nothing to do with mods at this point. I've tried the renaming folder trick, it fails. I've repaired the game numerous times, nothing changes. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the game, still that same endless white screen.

I've exhausted every avenue I can google, nothing works at all. Nothing about my computer has changed, I've had the game for years. This only popped up after I updated my game a few weeks ago.

I tried 3 different times to open the game, but I never got past the white screen. I tried checking for errors, but none have popped up, even after waiting for the checker to update. I followed all previous instructions exactly.

  • BSCG99  Did you uninstall the EA App with Revo and reinstall it?  I just want to make sure before moving on to anything else.

If that doesn't or didn't help, please create a new admin Windows account and try playing there.  Make it local, as in, don't link it to your Microsoft account or any email address.  (Keep declining until you're asked some security questions instead.)  You'll be able to at least try to launch the game without reinstalling anything, but your saves and other data won't be available.

I did uninstall the EA app with Revo and then reinstalled it.

I just made a new windows admin account and playtested there. The game gave a notification at launch that my graphics card was unrecognized, however I was able to reach the launch screen to begin with which is a major improvement. I playtested the game for a bit there and was able to easily create a new save, use CAS, use buildmode, and play in live mode for a bit. My computer was working harder than normal, but it's still an improvement.

  • BSCG99  Then the problem is limited to your main account, which is great (as in, it's not a mystery system issue).  If you'd like to keep playing in the alt account, you can copy some files over, a few at a time, and test them there.  This folder is accessible from all Windows accounts:

    C:\Users\Public

So it's a good way to transfer files without needing an external storage device.
