Sims 4 won’t launch Feb 28 update

Immediately after the Feb 28th update, my game will not launch. I last played this past week. Every time I try the EA app loads, says “launching game” and I get this pop up:

The Sims 4 is already running, Go ahead and start playing. It’s a good one. 

The game is not running, I checked task manager, I’ve restarted my game, I deleted my mods, I even took my user folders out to test if there was a corrupt file. No change. 
Please help, I just want to play with burglars
