Sims won't load since recent update

Hello,

Since the update at the start of last week, my game won't load. I can get to the main menu, but as soon as I try to load game, I am stuck on the loading screen. I have tried every day since the update, and after waiting 6 hours today for it to load, it still doesn't work.

I don't use mods and never have done, I've cleared the cache in both the Sims and Origin, I've tried to "repair" the game and that too is not working.

Any help please? Quite frustrating and I do not want to lose all my progress.

Thank you

    Hi, thank you for assisting.

This did work, the game ran and I was able to start a new save. How can I go about getting my old save back? I copy and pasted the contents of the original folder into the one for the new game I've run, but it gets stuck on the loading screen again.

  • KBees37  Please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  When you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily unread by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and see how it runs, that is if you can get that far.

If you still can't play, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.
