The sims 4 won't launch after factory resetting my computer
Hi all,
I have been playing The Sims 4 for many years and never had any real issues with it - until now.
I wanted to factory reset my computer as it hasn't been ''cleaned'' since I first got it in 2015. It's a Lenovo laptop running on Windows 10. Not been an issue. I have re-downloaded the base game and add-ons to my computer.
The problem occurs when I try to launch the game, either through the EA app or the game itself. The screen turns to black and the cursor is loading (which is normal), but when the game logo is supposed to show up and progress further, the window just exits back to the EA app as if I never tried to launch the game...
Anyone experienced the same problem and know how to fix it?
Thanks in advance!
Logan
@RanakiMcCormick Your dxdiag shows that Sims 4 is crashing because the AMD graphics driver is crashing, and that driver is from 2017. AMD offers a driver from 2022 for your graphics chip, so please install that (the Windows 10 64-bit version):
Run the installer as an admin: right-click the download and select "Run as administrator." Restart after installing and before trying to play.
