Respawn is looking into it, but in the meantime you can try what ExodusProtocol had done for the Ash challenge:
For everyone that is facing this issue. Have a friend/random play an assault legend, they open the assault bins and you pick up the hopup. It works.

I already opened the shotgun pack that’s when I realised it do you think I could still get the smg pack?

Ever since rev turned to an assault character, I can't finish my last spotlight challenge. The challenge requires you to scan care packages and open it. Please fix !

Luckily, the Spotlight passes do not expire so you should be able to complete it next season as well!
With the most recent hotfix in apex legends, revenant was moved to the assault class. While this is good for the game, his spotlight pass challenges did not change. One of these challenges is that he has to reveal and open a care package, which is impossible because he's not in skirmisher class anymore.
