Ideas
the chess tables on public lots saying "my sims doesnt have permission to play on this table". I have tried making a new sims save , going to libraries, parks, resetting with debug, replacing it with other tables to see if it was a speciffic table glitched out etc. and nothing is letting my sim play chess on public lots. I play 100% vanilla sans obviously in game debug cheats. only thing I haven't tried is disabling any packs, uninstalling and reinstalling. My sims to broke to by their own chess table at the moment, but that works on other saves. I'm on a laptop.
do you have any discovery quests active currently ?
not sure what that is, I have the "lifelong aspirations" active that I was trying to complete.
yes, that's a discovery quest. It's the reason for the issue but you can complete it. Chess on community lots just won't work while they are active (and yes, it's a bug)
