not sure what that is, I have the "lifelong aspirations" active that I was trying to complete.
yes, that's a discovery quest. It's the reason for the issue but you can complete it. Chess on community lots just won't work while they are active (and yes, it's a bug)

Yes the chessboard still does not work after the school activity period ends. It does not work at all.
That's why I make sure to play chess before going to the High School, or reloading the game if I forget to get it done before school starts.
