Can't Water Plants

however luckily the plants do not die, the game does not activate the possibility to water them because for some reason to be discovered, it considers them already watered, passing the mouse over it tells me that the plant does not need to be watered even though 52 days-sim have already passed without watering them ....

Yep, happening to me too but it’s only happening when I plant them in a planter or a dirt mound, if I plant things in individual pots I can water them all. 

This is 2 months later but just had this bug start in my game. I'm not using planter boxes, I'm using the gardening plots that came with Cottage Living. 

Same thing here. No one in my household can water. I have the plants as part of my small biz and customers can't water either. I ended up using a cheat to get the hydro planter from eco lifestyle (it's locked before you achieve something from that pack) and put all of my plans in those.

I found that if your Sim has the option of "water" then things work fine.  If the option is "water all" then the garden beds from Cottage Living and the Original 4 plant planter box do not work.  So, only children and those with no or low gardening skills can water on any kind of planter/garden bed.

The "Water All" does not work, and using "Tend Garden" also skips the watering part. If I click on the individual plants on the ground or the ones on the garden patches (Country Living) they water, but then the action cancels and they do not move to the next plant.

Same here, i have had to use sprinklers for all planter boxes to keep plants alive. They can weed, harvest etc. fine, but for watering the action queues up and then is instantly cancelled

Funniest thing...
So, I had two saves, where I had sims with HUGE plots of land for a greenhouse, and the other an outside garden. Could always water the plants themselves, regardless of skill level. 
I recently began a new save with new characters, and gave one of them a career from the Get to Work pack...I normally don't give my Sims jobs since I like them working for themselves, but figured I try it out...
But once at a certain level...now  she can't water the plants. The butler can, but she can't. 

I thought I would go back to another, different save; the Sim with the outside garden...and she is a level 10. She can't water them either now when she was able to before this new game save I created.
 
They ARE all in planter boxes/patches, and I would like to keep it that way? Instead of directly on the ground or in pots.
I do have mods, but I been seeing this happen with people who have none at all, so not so sure it has anything to do with mods.

I've just started having this issue. I had the plants on dirt plots at first, then moved them into planter boxes. Still can't water them. Tried hiring a gardener to see if that would change and the gardener can't water them either. She can weed, spray for bugs and harvest just fine.

I tried to skim through this and see if anyone else reported this. It's a long thread and I didn't find it. I apologize if I'm repeating information. I recently played a household with a garden. The daughter aged up with the green fiend trait. She can autonomously water the plants even if they're in the big planter. Which is nice as I didn't want to redo the whole thing to avoid having them die. She can also water them when directed. Really weird. Not sure if this is helpful information or not.
