Check baby interrupts all attempts to care for baby

The entire baby care system is so borked that many players simply skip Infant and Toddler stages altogether. There are Reddit subforums FILLED with complaints about the difficulty, if not the impossibility, of taking care of infants. Sims cannot autonomously care for infants well enough to avoid CPS threats and ordering them to take care of the infant is an exercise in frustration. 

I've tried triggering orders from the baby, which works about 50% of the time. I've tried ordering from baby furniture or directly ordering a sim to take care of the baby, and I'm lucky to have 25% success rate. Most of the time, either nothing happens at all or the sim goes to the baby and completely ignores the requested task. 

This has been going on for YEARS. 

This appears to be much worse than the last time I played infants early last year. Check Infant is popping up for both parents and for the parent with queued infant care actions, it's wiping those out. I've added feeding and changing actions but if the infant is crying the parents start acting autonomously. My Sim has been told to change her, clean her up and then feed her in the high chair (she's just started exploring foods) but Check Infant appears and one parent gives her a bottle while she's screaming because she had a diaper blowout. So she keeps screaming because she still hasn't been changed. The other parent has Check Infant too but is waving their arms that they're being obstructed. If she's crying because she's tired, I'll queue up actions to put her in her crib and tell her a bedtime story and put on a lullaby, but Check Infant appears and the parent puts her to bed in the downstairs travel crib and ignores my instructions, or they'll ignore the fact she was supposed to have her diaper changed and put her down. I tried making her a Calm infant but she's still a real screaming, sobbing crier. I'll be ageing her up today, it's too frustrating.

Maybe you didn't get the full experience the last time you dealt with this. What you have described is how it is and oft times, so much worse. Especially since I have to do things a certain way or I twitch. I like to have all of the household at max relationship with an infant before I age them up. Sucks to be me sometimes. 

I've recently been experiencing sims/caregiver when I select on sim to care for the infants the queue seems to freeze because another SIM is coming over to pick up the infant and put them on the floor and pick them up and then again putting them back on the floor 😵‍💫 I took my mods (I only have mccc and a few infant hair cc) out and I still experience this problem
