Community lots are completely empty

Thank you, I'll try this as I've been having this issue as well on my legacy save.  

This issue has improved for me with the latest update, but still happens now mainly with the Eco Lifestyle lots (which are finally working properly again(!!) after I go into build mode)

I've been having this problem since the pre-AA patch. Community lots are empty, with a few exceptions. Bars/lounges/nightclubs have a barkeeper, but no patrons. Libraries have a librarian, but no patrons. Gyms are completely empty. Additional service npc that normally spawn on specific lots, like entertainers on lounges and DJs on nightclub lots, do not appear.

The only sims who do show up are clubs that have that lot/lot type as a club meeting point. I have several clubs filled with npcs that meet at certain venues, as a means to populate venues some more, and the clubs consistently show up and do their normal club activities. So right now, at the gym it's just my sims and the "pump for fun" club, no gym trainer, no yoga instructor, and the hired barista also doesn't show up to tend the espresso bar in the cafeteria area. Lounges are now my sims, a lonesome bartender, and the four members of a club regaling each other with comedy and piano sessions. Etc. Last I checked beaches and pools worked normally, but it's currently winter in my game, so nobody goes to the pool anyway.

Hello. I wanted to address an issue in my game where townies and staff stop spawning on community lots (bots lots that are made by EA and made by me). I am using mods and CC, so I did some research on what could be causing this. I was also having an issue where any time I would load a household that I've already played before, the time reset, they had no jobs, relationships, skills, etc. I found that TURBODRIVER's Simulation Unclogger mod was incompatible with MCCC's feature where you could slow down or speed up the time, so I deleted that mod, started a new save, repaired the game, and cleared the cache, and everything was working completely fine. I took my sims to a restaurant and everything worked normal. Then I took them back home and was experiencing lots of lag due to playing for a long time, so I exited the game and reopened it. The next sim day, I took my sims to the town pool and it was happening again--no townies. I then took them to a different restaurant and again--no townies, no staff. After that, I took them to a different restaurant made by EA and the same thing happened. I tried it with multiple different community lots, some made by me, some made by EA and it was happening at every lot I traveled to. I decided to try and take my sims home and then travel to the restaurant a second time. There were a few townies there, but no staff. I even tried doing it after taking my mods folder out and it was still happening. This is not happening in any of my other saves, but with this particular save, I believe it started after the February 12 update.

I have tried everything possible to fix this, but nothing seemed to work. If anyone can help, I'd greatly appreciate it. I am playing on a 13-inch Macbook Pro MacOS Big Sur Version 11.7.10 and my mods folder size is around 80 GB. Thanks!

Feb 23 2026 Community lots glitching.  Pics below from Feb 13 to Feb 23.

1. Feb 23 On a date, arrived at Nightclub - No bartender, No sims, No DJ.  They were alone for the entire date. 
   Also strange is during his date with Alisi he gets this goal to Ask Alisi on a Date.  Dude, we are ON A DATE with HER!

2.  Feb 22 - Group goes to Sulani bar - empty, no bartender.  When NPC/not current sims finally show up they all run to crowd into the single bathroom and stay there.  Bartender shows up after many sim hours.   

3. Feb 19 Night on the Town at Blue Velvet - bartender not working.  Bartender chats and flirts like they are there to partayyyy.  Sims can't complete the event by making their own drinks.  Can't get the UI for the bartender to make a drink or serve food.  Rough NotT.  At least the bar wasn't empty.  

Feb 13 - same.  Good luck getting that bar drink, Sister!   Bartender is drinking with the clients.  

That's a helpful work around tip!  Next time I'll give that a try.  Thank you.  

I have replaced the venues in my game with ones that I have created, but no one uses them. Workers and NPCs don't spawn on the lots anymore. some of the lots are the same type as before and some are different. Why can't I create my own businesses that work?

I use a windows laptop and have the latest update for the game. No cc or mods.

When i got to the blue velvet night club no one spawns not even the workers . Ive tired 3 times now and i still cannot move on to the next part of the event quest because of this . I play on ps5 and it’s still the original blue velvet night club. 

whenever i take my sims to a pre-built lot i.e. the darong family palace or the rental lot in tartosa it loads with the lot completely empty. whats more is when i try to interact with the window shopping or nearby vendors, its like there is nothing there and it wont let me click on anything. i've tried playing different families but have the same problem. its affecting all my worlds, pls help?
