Crashes on Mainmenu

I don't know if this is the same or not.

My game kept hanging on the startup loading screen requiring a forced quit.

Setting the EA app to offline fixed this - sort of. I was able to open the game play, save, quit and reopen the game with it offline. After several rounds I set the EA app to online and was able to open and play normally. BUT - then it started to hang again. Went offline and all was well agin. Repeat. Repeat.

I'm on a Mac. Have been using both my regular save with mods, a copy of my save with mods removed and a vanilla save for testing. 

I haven't done anything with tattoos from BH. No custom tattoos. No tattoos from the gallery. I do have mermaids, but they're from gameplay, not the gallery. They do have some tattoos. These predate BH. I also have Aliens. Also from gameplay, not the gallery. 

Probably a coincidence, but this all started after I was testing BH small business lots from the gallery. (I always do this with a copy of my TS4 folder with mods removed. Just in case.) I tried deleting the Tray folder. That worked at first, but didn't solve the hanging problem. One of the lots was a tattoo shop.

The only thing that seems to work - for me - is keeping the EA app offline. 

Maybe related: I've not been able to log into the forums for several days. Keeps saying authentication not available. This is similar to the crash reports.
