Same. Lack of EA's interest in fixing this issue has driven me to Inzoi which despite being Early Access doesn't have save game breaking bugs like this.
Same for me. It seams the bug started in Willow Creek and spread in Newcrest for me. Oasis Spring looks fine for now but I'm not really playing rigth now!
Yeah, this is happening to me, too! And it doesn't seem to go in any order. Mine seemed to start with Willow Creek. Now the entire world is gone. All lots in Willow Creek load empty when visiting them or trying to build on them. This 'corruption' did not spread to Oasis Springs next. It has spread to Sulani. All lots in that world now load empty. This is an incredibly frustrating bug!!! I have been playing this save since the game launched! I have customized nearly everything, including houses and hundreds of sims! Yes, I use mods, but don't try to tell me that that is the issue! We know it is not!! By the way, I had no RR lots in Willow Creek, and only 1 in Sulani. I really hope they get to the bottom of this and fix it!!
faithvssamMy corrupted save is big AND has a lot r-rentals, too. Approximately 50 units spread across all worlds. But now, my backed up save file in which I have not saved before the corruption starts and in which I reduced the rental-units to about 25, works again without any problems.
My last comment didn't show up so I'll keep this brief. I'm on this thread because my save file DID have a fair amount of R-Rentals. Approximately 1-2 per world, and maybe a couple more than that in some of the newer worlds. You, on the other hand, said that you only placed five R-Rentals before you experienced corruption, so I'm not entirely sure you meet this thread's brief which is 'This happens to save games that have lots of R-rental units in all world.'
The thread you've linked me to clearly states that this is the same issue. It is not a separate issue. This thread is specifically exploring the acceleration of the issue due to R-Rentals, which is something I've always maintained.
Finally, you continue to state that I'm somehow saying or implying this is controllable, ie putting the blame on the player and not EA. So let me be clear again, if you have a lot of EA-released DLC and like to populate all your expansion pack-added worlds with lots using this DLC, you are in danger. To control this would mean not engaging with massive parts of the game, such as the gallery, legacy play, build/buy mode, updating new worlds etc. So yes, anyone can control this by not playing with these aspects/not adding to their DLC, but that is clearly not sustainable in the long run and it means those of us who have forked out money on all of EA's DLC are the ones most affected/punished by it.
p.s. did they delete StephanLunar's post because he found the exact source of the problem before them? The solution was right there in his post! I wish i had screenshot it.
Sorry, i didn't mean "nice" as an insult, just a word, i also could have said good. It did imply that players could somewhat control it though, by keeping their save file small.
This of course, does happens in long played saves with or without r-rentals, but that's not what this thread is about. r-rentals are directly corrupting the game, whether it is played or not, and no matter how long. If your save corruption is not caused by r-rentals, then you're not in the right thread. This one is specifically for problems caused by r-rentals.
Again, i'm not saying your problem isn't just as bad, but this isn't the right thread.
But it doesn't though. You're assuming that my problem is that my community lots won't stay whatever i set them to be. It's not. Actually, it said residential on the map, but was still labeled as spa once i loaded it, though incomplete, since it was now a house. The problem is that the actual spa i put down was gone and was now the house that is there by default. It has happened to me in another, played, save, where the lot i put down just vanished, because the original lot was empty. More precisely, these lots i circled. My problem always start in Tomarang.
As for error 800, yes the symptoms are very similar. That's what the people in that thread are experiencing too, ex:
Started encountering this bug. Got load error 800 when trying to load into a residential rental lot. Buildings are starting to disappear and endless loading. It starts in Willow Creek and spreads the more I try to play.
The difference is people in this thread here don't get the error 800, but do have several r-rentals in their save. If you don't, then you're not in the right thread. I'm not saying your problem isn't as bad, just that you should be in the right thread so that they can evaluate the different technical origin, as you said.
