Game freezes when getting married

this is happening to me too, I removed all my mods but it doesn’t work. I can’t celebrate weddings . I don’t know what to do 💔

I have the exact same problem :( I've been trying to repair my game for hours, tried the 50/50 method, repaired my game and also started the game without mods, but every time my Sims kiss each other + confetti, the game freezes and doesn't unfreeze... Also, the new family tree is very laggy and inaccurate. For some reason, my female Sim and her cousin are marked as 'married' etc. etc.

So I had this couple, and one of the Sims was a spellcaster while the other was not. The spellcaster Sim was immortal, their partner wasn't, and when the non-spellcaster Sim died, they reincarnated as their own great-grandchild.

Prior to the most recent patch, the reincarnated Sim and their great-grandparent/old spouse had recovered their memories of being soulmates and remarried. Upon loading this save post-patch, their marriage was gone, though their romantic feelings and memories of being soulmates weren't. When I tried to marry them again, the game froze. Or rather, the UI still worked and all, but the game clock was not advancing, and all Sims were stuck in whatever animation they'd been previously in.

I assume what's happening here is that the game is entering an infinite loop of trying to recalculate the family tree when a Sim is married to their own great-grandparent. And while my game is modded, I don't think this particular feature required a mod to work? As far as I know, reincarnation and restoring soulmate memories and all that are a base Life & Death game mechanic.

Getting married is impossible. I've tried the ceremony and the wedding arch: options are greyed out and claims the other party isn't there, while standing right next to eachother. Eloping via the arch: the same. Eloping on the other SIM results in the wedding march music. The sims just stand there. There's an option in the pie menu to "exchange vows" and the message board updates, but nothing else happens.

I've tried several options, including traveling to another lot as a group, one by one, breaking up first and proposing again, with and without mods, Starting a new game, Creating to sims from scratch. Relationship bars are at 100% both friendship and romance. They are part of the same household.

The only way to get them into a marriage status is via CAS, which kind of makes this game obsolete.

I've bought this game and some EP's about a month ago. From the 400+ hours of gameplay, I've actually only played about 10 hours. The rest of the time I was fixing bugs! This game should have an "early access" status and be about 90% cheaper to justify its performance. And please don't lauch EP's if the basegame is still heavily bugged.

Same here. Time stops sims ain't moving anymore.

Same issue, the way i could carry on playing was by waiting till it freezes, then go straight into manage worlds, and then back to the household, and the sims are married, its like the game can't process the marriage while in household, same thing with asking to move together, it freezes, but after getting to manage worlds, the pop-up to accept appears

Happened to me too just without any wedding. Sim lives with 2 cats, time stopped after midnight, sim in bed. Background and sun and shades changed, cats moved, could click on calendar, but cannot save or exit the game. Played with updated mods. Tried 50/50, turning off automatic marriage in MCCC with no result. The only thing that helped after 4 hours of anger was to pull out all mods, the game was maybe confused because it let me go and it didn´t freeze at the 0:03 time. Saved. Put the mods back and now I can play normally. No idea for how long with this issue seemingly happening without mods.
