Today I was playing my game and though my Sim was asleep, she got up and went outside because of some strange lights floating and a strange sound, and she got abducted by aliens. now usually the game speeds up afterwards, but it didn't this time, so I did it, then when she came back, it still had her being with the aliens queued up, though she was standing in front of her house. But she just stood their not actually moving in a normal way, I tried to get her to do something else, but I couldn't select anything else. I tried RESETSIM w name of Sim, though at first I had forgot that you had to write the name down too, but it didn't work ether.
When the abduction occurred I saved the game before she came back, so now I have lost all my progress before the abduction. I also found that I couldn't save my lot on the gallery while this was going on, which might have been because even when the game was paused, everything was still on, meaning I could hear the sounds of the outside, since it was night time, well early morning, there was bird chirping, also water sounds since the lot was the one in Windenburg Middle Of Nowhere, so it's near the water. Also my Sim still did this weird bit of movement, which she had already been doing since she came back.
I also thought if I saved it and then quit the game and came back to it, it might get fixed, since I had already had a bug happen earlier when I had just started, when the welcome party had come and then I had my Sim say goodbye to them, the bar at the top showing who had been talking, stay, with the last one of the Sims she had said goodbye to still showing. So I just saved the game and just went to the main page instead of quitting, went back and it was gone, So I thought if I might be able to do the same with this bug, but then I couldn't actually save the game at all, it just kept on spinning like it was, but after a minute, it was obvious it wasn't doing anything, since it never takes that long to save, especially since I hadn't done that much when I went to save.
I would put up the save file for you to look at EA/Maxis, but your Add an Attachment doesn't even let me do that with save files, I could even do the same with a video I took of the whole thing, from the in game camera, but again, we can't share video either.
By the way I am on PC, I only have minor mods, MC Commander, Shortcuts, and UI_Cheats_Extension in my game, and no CC.
Also I tried the save one more time, and did speed it up to get her back quickly, but it still did the same thing. In all I tried 4 times to get that save to work right, and nothing I did worked, so I will have to start over with the original save the game does at the start, and hope it doesn't mess up again.
By the way I had never had problems like this before, but I don't know if it came with the last update/patch, since I hadn't played since last month ( Dec 2025 ) I just logged on for the event, since I was trying to play The Sims 2 Legacy, but it kept crashing, so I gave up on it, and went back to TS4 because I haven't had crashing with it, even if it is buggy, but though this wasn't a crash, it has the same effect, it caused me to lose my saved game.
Hopefully, when I play again, she won't get abducted again, I was so excited when it happened, which is why I saved it, just in case something bad did happen, I wouldn't lose that, since it was such a surprise, but now I am going to be afraid every time it does happen, that my saved game will get, ( I guess corrupted ), and I will lose any progress I made. Now I will have to start saving the game every so often, whenever I play, just like I have done while playing TS2 Legacy and The Sims 3.
I hope whatever is causing this is fixed soon, but I wont hold my breath waiting.
